Hiking Elopement with Family

Cori and Nathan were coming from Michigan to elope here in Colorado. They wanted to elope with their family. Nathan had two little girls, one boy, and his parents that he wanted to include on their special day. Cori had her parents and best friend join them on this adventure. Cori and Nathan were both very avid hikers so they wanted a hike that would be at least 3 miles where their family could join them.

We started their day at the Airbnb for their getting ready photos. Cori and her dad had their first look at the back of the Airbnb. The rest of the guests including Nathan, left to go to the ceremony spot. The ceremony spot was at an alpine lake surrounded by lush trees. After Cori and her dad’s first look, we drove to meet them at the next location. I set Cori up on a bridge while the guests were near the entrance so they could see Cori first before Cori and Nathan had their intimate first look together.

After their first look, we walked around the lake to a secluded spot for their ceremony. Nathan’s dad guided them in a pray while they huddled together. Both set of parents spoke about their love for them, their advice on marriage, and how grateful they were to be able to celebrate with them. Nathan and Cori had speeches for the kids. It was such a beautiful moment. Then Nathan and Cori said their vows for one another. We took some family photos before heading over to the hike location.

We started the hike as a group. It was really great to show them one of my favorite hikes in Colorado. The parents and kids did so well. We got to the location where you come out from the trees, it opens up and you are surrounded by jagged mountains.

We explored the abandoned cabins, popped champagne for the adults and apple juice that I brought for the kids, and took photos. It was such a magical day to celebrate with family while going on an awesome hike and getting married in the mountains.

Colorado Elopement Photographer

Hi! I am your girl, Vivian!

What makes me different from other Elopement Photographers – I genuinely care about your day. I am not kidding. I have been in your shoes – I eloped! So I know what it’s like to choose a wedding day that is vastly different from the big traditional weddings that you have attended to in the past or that people are telling you to have.

It is super important that you choose a photographer that you vibe with because you will be putting your trust fully and completely in this person’s hands. I am the photographer to help you create your dream day. I am known for “heck yeah, let’s do it” when someone wants to go on an adventure with me, I am super detail orientated, and I absolutely love to laugh and have fun with the people around me.
